Not as highly rated as brother Cameron, Cayden could nonetheless be a vital member of Duke’s team this coming season.

Over the years, basketball fans have seen a number of twins and typically, they are identical. Think about it: Horace and Harvey Grant. Tom and Dick Van Arsdale. Robin and Brook Lopez. Marcus and Markieff Morris. Caleb and Cody Marin. Julian and Justin Champagnie.

It’s a bit uncommon to see non-fraternal twins in basketball, much less two that are of fairly different heights.

That’s exactly what Duke has in the Boozer twins though: Cameron is 6-9 and Cayden is 6-4.

Cameron has gotten the bulk of the attention, but we’re really intrigued with Cayden, who is the subject of the latest Duke Chronicle player profile.

He’s a good size for a point guard, he’s physically talented and he’s really smart. And that’s what you need in a point guard. Look back a little bit. Duke had Bobby Hurley, Jason Williams/Chris Duhon, Jon Scheyer and Tyus Jones. Those guys won championships.

It’s possible to win a national title without a great point guard, but it’s unlikely.

We’ve been thrilled with the job Scheyer has done as head coach, but he really hasn’t had a superb point guard yet, unless you count Cooper Flagg. We’re curious to see what he can do if he has one. And there’s a chance that he might.
