Summer League 2025

Summer 2025.

I wanna start by saying how fun summer league has become. When I was a kid my dad took my to summer league at LMU. That used to be the only way to even hear about it. Now it’s all over espn and nba tv. The California classic doesn’t get the respect it deserves. I wanna go. Vegas is played out. And to hot.

Here is my take aways.

bronny was great. Btw he was the youngest member of the summer roster. So many people love or hate him. But really he is a young developing kid. Super athletic and short for his skill set. That being said he is moving in the right direction.

koloko was great!! Even when he was not putting up numbers he was a playing well. Changing shots. Getting rebounds. By he has a nice shot. I wonder if he is better than Hayes. Definitely lock him up.

It’s too early to give up on dalton. They were blitzing him every time he touched the ball. So many close misses. Which is more than I can say for many of the guys out there. It’s was brick city. That being said if we can package him with Gabe and get off Gabe and get someone. I’d do it. And that could open up a roster spot. Smart was an amazing pickup. But we could use one more dog on d.

Jamison was bad. He is a muscle guy. Maybe Ayton makes him less important and maybe we give up the two way there. It’s still always nice to have a mean muscle big.

DJ Stewart. Second year guard out of duke. That kid can play. He reminds me of Scottie pippen jr. Not to fast and short so he gets no attention. But he can shoot. Makes good decisions. Plays fine d. Let’s give him jemisons two way spot unless we can do a two for one include Gabe and dalton. Get someone like Dosumno or thybulle. Then you may wanna add koloko at a vet min and give his two way to Stewart. Either way keep that kid.

I did miss Dixon but also marciulionous. South Bay gonna be fun to watch his year.
