YouTube Gold: Kyle Filipowski Killing It In Summer League Play
He’s really elevated his game, which should come as no surprise to Duke fans.
To be clear, summer league isn’t really NBA-level basketball. It’s mostly rookies, young players who need more reps and guys who are trying to catch on. They’re extremely talented players, but they’re not always the top-of-the-line guys we see in the league.
Former Duke star Kyle Filipowski fits the second category and man has he capitalized.
In summer league play, Filipowski has put up 29.2 ppg, 7.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 39 percent on threes and 56 percent overall
This video breaks down some of the things that he’s doing extremely well and goes into his bag of tricks.
At Duke, we saw signs of immense potential. He has one of the quickest spin moves we’ve ever seen and he has a real gift for passing.
He was a steal for Utah in the 2024 NBA Draft, with the Jazz taking him with the first pick in the second round after everyone passed on him.
Now the NBA is seeing what we saw in Cameron. The guy has real skills, and as numerous players have proved over the years, from Larry Bird and Magic Johnson to Nikola Jokic, skills are more important than talent without skills.
We should get to see him emerge more this season and a lot of teams are going to regret passing on him.
The Revenge Tour is about to start for Filipowski.
