Indiana commit Prince-Alexander Moody already a fan favorite

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC — It hasn’t taken long for class of 2026 four-star point guard Prince-Alexander Moody to captivate Hoosier nation.

Moody, the 6-foot-4 guard out of Bishop McNamara (MD) and the Team Takeover Nike EYBL AAU program, has been very active on social media since his commitment to Indiana on June 27. He’s interacted with Hoosier fans daily, reposted Tweets about the football program and has even trolled rival fans. It’s not easy to become a fan favorite before even stepping on campus, but it looks like Moody has done just that.

“We can already see the type of player and more importantly, the personality of the guys DeVries wants. Kid is a legend already,” one fan wrote. “Moody has been unlike any recruit/commit I’ve experienced in a long time,” said another.

Moody said Indiana fans are his “dogs.”

“I like entertaining the fans and doing that type of stuff,” Moody said. “And it’s funny. I be getting a kick out of it. I’m even trying to troll the Purdue fans and all that. It’s funny though.”

Has his attempts been successful?

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got them good a couple of times,” Moody said. “I don’t remember what I be saying, but I just go off the top of the head. Because now I know so much about the history. So yeah, it’s crazy.”

The relationships Moody built with the staff was a huge factor in his decision to commit.

“That school is amazing,” he said. “It was just like the way it happened. It was just meant to be. The head coach, the relationships I had with them and everything, it was just crazy. The place is crazy. Everything about it was just insane.”

Moody continued:

“The gym. Oh my lord, if you see that gym, that gym is crazy. And it’s packed every game. The academics is great, everything is great. The relationships I had with them, it was different than what other coaches had with me. And they really wanted me. They got me on a visit as soon as they were recruiting me, gave me the offer.”

Indiana head coach Darian DeVries has won everywhere he’s been, and Moody describes his play style as “insane.”

“I feel like anybody would want to play for him,” Moody said. “They move the ball. They play defense. The pace is crazy. There’s a whole bunch of space.”

One of Moody’s teammates on Team Takeover, five-star guard Jordan Smith Jr., is a high priority Indiana target.

“I’m trying to get him over there,” Moody said. “I’m trying to. I’m going to get him over there hopefully. I’m going to try to because I need him or somebody like him. But ain’t nobody like him, I’m not going to lie. So it’s going to be hard to get someone like him, but I’m going to try to get him for sure.”

Moody also has his eyes set on five-star guard Deron Rippey Jr. and four-star wing Cole Cloer. He said Indiana is surely after another guard, and he’s down to play with anyone that correlates with him and matches his energy.

Right now, Moody is participating in Nike EYBL Peach Jam with Team Takeover, and he’s after a championship. He knows what it will take out of him to get it done.

“To be honest, I don’t even care about scoring,” Moody said. “I’ve just been trying to do all the little things to get my team the win. You see me out there diving on the floor. I’m just trying to get the win. I don’t really care. I’m already committed. So there’s nothing — my job is to win the game, and I want to win the game. I’m going to do everything in my power to win the game. It don’t got to be scoring.”
