Khaman Malauch Making His Mark In Phoenix Already
They’re going to love him too.
Khaman Maluach is now officially an NBA player and the Suns have released his official jersey: he’ll be wearing not his Duke #9 but rather #10, which of course he couldn't wear at Duke since Dick Groat retired it decades ago.
As we said a while back, once the people in Phoenix get to know him, they’re going to love him just as much as people in Durham did.
Well, that’s happening.
First, there are these comments about what he brings on defense.
Then there’s what former Virginia forward Ryan Dunn said about him:
“Khaman is super special at 18. Him flying around, talking, being the loudest one on the floor, being able to guard and switch and being so active is great on the defensive end. Him shooting the 3 how he has been shooting it has been great. Pick and pop, corner 3s, he is so confident and looks good. He is just being aggressive. I can only tell him to keep doing what he is doing.”
Then there was this self-effacing comment.
He’s clearly got work to do, but there’s no question that Maluach has, in a very short period of time, made a big impression in Phoenix. The future is incredibly bright for that guy.
