Scheyer’s Update On Ngongba And Brown
Good news in both cases
Jon Scheyer’s presser has come and gone but he had some things to say, not least of all about the status of Pat Ngongba and Maliq Brown.
Ngongba seems to be fine. As for Brown, Scheyer says he’s weeks ahead of schedule, but won’t get full contact for some time yet:
” He’s (Patrick Ngongba) working out, he is playing, and doing everything. Malik is weeks ahead of schedule from his surgery, where he is at, you know. He dislocated his shoulder twice. You have to be really cautious with that, so he won’t do contact, still, for another four to eight weeks really. But he can do everything basically 5-0. He’s shooting, he’s handling, he’s passing.”
Watching those guys grow will be interesting. Ngongba was a much craftier player than we realized and Brown at times was a stunning defender. He was very unusual and highly disruptive.
