Five-star prospect Caleb Gaskins working on setting up visits

COLORADO SPRINGS, COCaleb Gaskins recruitment is heating up.

As a sophomore, the 6-foot-9 Gaskins played at Montverde Academy under legendary coach Kevin Boyle. But he spent this past season at Christopher Columbus High in Miami where he won a state title with the Boozer twins under coach Andrew Moran. Now entering his senior season, Gaskins is in the process of setting up official visits.

“I don’t have any visits set up right now,” he told ZAGSBLOG at the 2025 USA Basketball Men’s U19 National Team training camp. “I’m starting to get in that process of scheduling them, but I’ll probably be taking my visits, maybe get some of them in this month, if not in July and August.”

Gaskins said Texas, Louisville Ole Miss, Miami, LSU, Baylor, and Indiana are the schools prioritizing him — and that he wants to take officials to a few of them.

“I think I’m going to take [officials] as of right to Texas, Louisville, Ole Miss…and yea, Miami,” he said. “I’m close to Miami so that visit will be easy.”

Some in the industry think Miami is the team to beat. The Hurricanes just hired Moran to their staff after hiring former Duke lead recruiter Jai Lucas as their head coach.

“I’ve known for Jai for quite a while right now,” Gaskins said. “He coached my teammate Cooper [Flagg] so we had a relationship [since] then. It’s a close relationship. He really believes in me and he thinks I’d be great for their program.”

Lucas helped Duke sign Flagg and the Boozer twins, who will both suit up at Duke this fall. Despite all that, Gaskins shuts down the idea that he’s a Miami lean.

“I don’t want anybody thinking or crystal balling me to go anywhere,” he said. “My options are open.”

Despite all this Gaskins did state his relationship with the Miami staff is very strong but also named several other coaching staff’s he has a great relationship with.

“The strongest [relationships I have] right now I’d say are with Texas, Louisville, Ole Miss, and Miami,” he said

For now, Gaskins is enjoying his time at Team USA U19 Training Camp playing under the guidance of some top college coaches including Tommy Lloyd, Nate Oats, Mark Pope and others.

“This camp has been great,” he said. “It’s a great experience, obviously great talent. Everybody here can play, so we’re making each other better.”
