Media, that is.

Duke Brotherhood member Jared McCain was on his way to possibly winning the 2025 Rookie of the Year award when he suffered an untimely knee injury and was forced to sit out the rest of the year.

However, as we saw at Duke, the guy is relentlessly upbeat and he’s kept a very positive attitude while he’s on the comeback trail.

McCain became a star on social media before he became a Blue Devil and while at Duke, he spent time on camera interviewing coaches and teammates, as Duke players typically do. This allows the Blue Devils to tell their own stories, which became important at the peak of Duke hating.

That experience, not to mention bringing his own audience, may have played a role when the NBA took him on for the NBA Player Correspondent Program for the finals. McCain got to do Game 1. This article lists correspondents through Game 4, so perhaps he’ll get a second opportunity.
