Duke Recruiting: Hawthorne Chooses Kentucky
Best of luck to him in Lexington
As you probably know, West Virginia native Braydon Hawthorne was down to five schools - Duke, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pitt and Virginia Tech.
He announced a few days ago that he would reveal his choice on Tuesday evening and also said that he hadn’t even told his parents so know one really knows what was planning to announce.
Well, we know now that his final choice was not Duke.
Instead, Hawthorne will be a Kentucky Wildcat.
He’s a very promising player and we certainly wish him the best of luck with his decision and hope that it works out well for him.
As for Duke, there will likely be other developments this week, hopefully positive: Italian Dame Sarr (we think it’s pronounced Da-May, incidentally) has been strongly linked to Duke and Sebastian Wilkins plans to announce Friday. He’s down to Duke and Maryland. Either or both of those players would be significant additions to Jon Scheyer’s next roster.
