Former St. John’s guard and the 2025 Big East Player of the Year RJ Luis Jr. will remain in the 2025 NBA Draft, ESPN’s Jeff Borzello reported on Wednesday. He is a 6-foot-7 forward from Miami that spent two seasons at St. John’s following his freshman season at UMass.

Luis Jr. averaged 18.2 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game during the 2024-25 season for St. John’s. He recorded his best career stats during his career at St. John’s, improving from a disappointing sophomore campaign.

With one year of eligibility remaining, Luis Jr. announced he would enter the 2025 NBA Draft process and the transfer portal following St. John’s second round loss to Arkansas in the NCAA Tournament. Reports have said Luis Jr. has not heard from any college coaches and is fully focused on preparing for the NBA Draft.

Luis Jr. is participating in this week’s NBA Draft combine at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago. His measurements were listed as 6’5 3/4 barefoot, 210 pounds, a 6’10 3/4 wingspan and an 8’7 1/2 standing reach.

Following his breakout junior season, Luis Jr. is listed as a likely second round pick and is ranked No. 72 in ESPN’s NBA Draft rankings.
