Five-star prospect Tyrone Jamison eyeing Peach Jam title, updates his recruitment

MESA, AZ — Class of 2027 five-star prospect Tyrone Jamison Jr remembers what it’s like to have his heart broken at Peach Jam. It’s a feeling he never plans to experience again.
“Definitely looking to make Peach Jam and not only make it win Peach Jam,” Jamsion told ZAGSBLOG. “So that’s really like a big goal that I have with JL3.”
The 6-foot-2 guard from Shreveport (LA) was an offensive weapon at EYBL Session 1. He averaged 15.7 points and 4.0 assists per game as JL3’s 16U squad ended the weekend with a 3-0 record. His best performance was his team’s first game in Mesa vs. LivOn, where he scored 23 points to go along with eight assists and and two steals in a victory.
“I think we excel at just playing hard,” Jamison said. “Not taking no plays off. We know what it feels like to lose at the wire at Peach Jam, so we just don’t want that feeling again. We just all buy into playing hard together.”
In terms of his recruitment, here’s what Jamison told ZAGSBLOG regarding some of the schools that have reached out to him thus far:
LSU: “Definitely a good program. They have been recruiting me hard since like the seventh grade. Mostly like a family down there, and they had a pretty good season. I think that next year they’ll have a good season with a lot of the transfers they’re getting in.”
BAYLOR: “Definitely one of my dream schools growing up. A lot of good guards came through there, and Scott Drew is definitely a good coach. So I’d say that program is very good. They had a great year this year, too, making the tournament.” Assistant coach Tweety Carter has been Jamison’s main contact at Baylor.
Louisville: “They definitely had an unexpected season. I don’t think anybody expected them to have a season like that, but I know when I was down there for a visit, he was kind of telling me about how they were gonna have a big year down there. And they have very good guards. They have Chucky [Hepburn] and they got a good guard, Mikel Brown, coming in. So they’re looking to have a big year next year too.”
Mississippi State: “Definitely a good school with Josh Hubbard and a few other guards they have. So there’s really a good school. They’re making the tournament also.”
Arkansas: “Kind of like one of my dream schools growing up, especially with Coach Cal [John Calipari] being there. And then this year, having an unexpected season in his first year, Arkansas making a Sweet Sixteen in the tournament. Just all the guards he brought up like Boogie Fland, Rob Dillingham, DJ Wagner. So this definitely one of the dream schools that I am looking forward to.”
Texas A&M’s new coaching staff has also been in contact with Jamison.
The five-star prospect does not have any visits planned as of now, but he’s taken unofficial visits to Mississippi State, Louisville, LSU and Arkansas. He plans on scheduling more visits during his junior year, and when he does, he hopes that coaches come to know him as a player who just wants to win.
“To see a natural leader,” Jamison said. “A person that is going to give his all offensively and defensively and just a winner.”
The guard is ranked No. 14 in the 2027 class by 247Sports. His favorite NBA player is Lebron James, and he likes to play video games and the guitar.
