Warriors vs. Timberwolves Game 2 injury report
The full injury report for Thursday’s game.
It’s time for Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The Golden State Warriors will look to go up 2-0 on the Minnesota Timberwolves, but my goodness do they have a tall task ahead of them. They’re on the road. They’re facing a younger, more rested, angry team. And they’re playing without their best player.
There are paths to victory for the Warriors, but it’s going to take a monumental, team-wide effort. Thankfully, other than the obvious, they’re healthy.
Here’s the full injury report.
Warriors
Out — Steph Curry (left hamstring strain)
We already knew Curry would miss this game, after getting injured in Game 1. He’ll miss at least the next two games as well, before being re-evaluated on Wednesday. For now, the Dubs just need to try and tread water until their superstar can return. It’s all about stealing a win wherever they can, and dragging the series out while Curry rehabs. Hopefully he’s able to play in Game 5, should the series get there.
Available — Gary Payton II (left thumb splint)
Thankfully Payton is good to go, which is critical with Curry sidelined. GPII will likely take a good chunk of the minutes left behind by Curry, as the Warriors will seek to replace one of the league’s top perimeter scorers with one of its best perimeter defenders.
Timberwolves
Out — Rob Dillingham (right ankle sprain)
Dillingham, who also was inactive for Tuesday’s Game 1, is the only Minnesota player on the injury report. He was unlikely to be in the rotation anyway.
Enjoy the action, Dub Nation. The game tips off at 5:30 p.m. PT on TNT.
