Anthony Edwards returns after ankle injury
Another injured star.
The Western Conference Semifinals series between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves looked like thrilling matchup on paper. But unfortunately, it’s been marred by a loss of star talent. During the second quarter of Thursday’s Game 2, Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards appeared to injure his ankle when Warriors center Trayce Jackson-Davis inadvertently landed on it. Edwards was done on the court for a while, before needing help to limp off the court and to the locker room. The Timberwolves announced that he is questionable to return with a left ankle injury, but Edwards was in the starting lineup for the second half.

This came after Tuesday’s Game 1, when Steph Curry injured his hamstring in the second quarter. Curry missed the rest of the game, and has been ruled out through at least Game 4 of the series.
If Edwards’ injury lingers, then it’s something of an equalizer in the series, albeit one that no one would ever wish to see materialize. Cameras panned to Curry as Edwards gingerly walked off the court, with the Warriors superstar looking quite despondent at the apparent injury of his All-Star peer.
Hopefully Edwards’ injury isn’t too serious, and he doesn’t re-injure it. Even though his absence would obviously benefit the Warriors, it’s nothing anyone wants to see happen.
We’ll keep you updated as any news about Edwards and his injury comes out.
