Indiana Fever make wave of roster cuts after first preseason game
South Carolina guard Bree Hall and forward Jillian Alleyne mark the Fever’s first training camp roster cuts.
The Indiana Fever are the latest WNBA team to trim their roster, cutting South Carolina guard Bree Hall and former Oregon standout Jillian Alleyne after their first preseason game.
Hall is a two-time NCAA champion who averaged 5.8 points across 18.4 minutes per game in four seasons at South Carolina. She was teammates with Fever star Aliyah Boston for three seasons, and the two reunited at training camp. Hall shot a career-best 38.9% from three in her senior season, and was drafted 20th overall by the Fever in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
Alleyne signed a training camp deal with the Fever in March. The former Oregon star has been dominating overseas in Turkey. She briefly played on the Minnesota Lynx and Washington Mystics but has spent most of her professional career overseas, including three seasons in Israel. The 30-year-old was the NCAA’s rebounding leader in 2014, and has the second-most double-doubles in NCAA Division I history.
13 players remain on the Indiana Fever’s training camp roster
The Indiana Fever only brought 15 players to training camp, and after this first wave of cuts, they are now down to 13 players.
Those players are:
- Forward Damiris Dantas
- Forward Natasha Howard
- Guard Kelsey Mitchell
- Guard Lexie Hull
- Forward DeWanna Bonner
- Center Aliyah Boston
- Guard Caitlin Clark
- Guard Sydney Colson
- Guard Sophie Cunningham
- Forward Brianna Turner
- Forward Yvonne Ejim
- Center Makayla Timpson
- Guard Jaelyn Brown
Ejim, Timpson, and Brown now battle for the final roster spots — the Fever can carry up to 12 players on their roster, but most teams elect to have 11 for cost-saving purposes.
Timpson was drafted 19th overall by the Fever in the 2025 WNBA Draft after a career at Florida State, while Ejim was drafted 32nd overall out of Gonzaga.
Brown is in her second year in the WNBA, having appeared in 14 games for the Dallas Wings last season.
Yvonne Ejim, Makayla Timpson, and Jaelyn Brown appeared in the Fever’s preseason games
Against the Washington Mystics, Brown played 15 minutes and posted 2 points on 1-6 shooting, Ejim played 5 minutes, and Timpson scored 4 points in 9 minutes.
Against Brazil, Timpson scored 9 points in 10 minutes, Ejim added 6 points on 3-5 shooting, while Brown racked up 2 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals in 15 minutes.
Teams will finalize their rosters ahead of May 15.
