Oklahoma hiring Justin Scott, adding Xzayvier Brown via portal
By ADAM ZAGORIA
Oklahoma coach Porter Moser is making moves.
Moser is hiring Saint Joe’s associate head coach Justin Scott as an assistant coach, a source confirmed.
The news was first reported by Jon Rothstein.
The expectation is that sophomore guard Xzayvier Brown will come to Oklahoma with Scott, who is Brown’s stepfather.
The 6-foot-2 Brown led St. Joe’s in scoring and averaged 17.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists as a sophomore.
Brown scored in double figures in every game he played and his 32 games in double figure scoring led the Atlantic-10. He poured in a season-high 27 points at Fordham on March 1.
Brown would join Notre Dame transfer forward Tae Davis and Miami transfer point guard Nijel Pack at Oklahoma.
