Kansas gets its first portal commitment
BY ALEJANDRO LOPEZ
Kansas has an exciting year ahead of it.
Loyola-Chicago transfer Jayden Dawson will be suiting up for Kansas next season, he announced Friday.
The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 14 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists per game in his junior year. Dawson played all three seasons of his collegiate career at Loyola-Chicago.
He will head to the Big 12 to play under head coach Bill Self and the Jayhawks.
While this is the first portal commitment for Kansas, the program has an exciting recruitment class on its way, headlined by ESPN No. 2 prospect Darryn Peterson.
Guards Elmarko Jackson and Jamari McDowell will return to Kansas next season, while Overtime Elite recruits Bryson Tiller and Samis Calderon are set to join the program next season.
