The internet is right to be obsessed with this weird German marble train game

This German marble train game is going viral, because it’s perfect.

Ever watch something and it immediately floors you with how much you need it in your life? That’s what’s happened to millions of people upon seeing footage of this incredible German game.

People compete head-to-head to see who can roll a marble down a track and load it into a car of a running model train. More points are awarded based on how far back in the train you can land the marble. It’s simple, skill based, and feels absolutely perfect to put in every bar in America.

In fact, one commenter on Reddit said he asked his local is already going to put in a game like it.

“I successfully convinced my local bar to buy a toy train and let us play this game. They have a perfect unusable space for it. Cannot wait to play.”

The genesis of Train Marbles comes from the German game show series “Schlag den Raab,” which translates to “Beat the Raab.” In it, contestants went head-to-head with German celebrity Stefan Raab to try and beat him in a series of challenges. Since the format has been adopted into subsequent series Schlag den Star, Schlag den Henssler, and Schlag den Besten — as well as being adopted in England as “Beat the Star.”

It’s been some time since the marble train segment aired, but folks in the USA are only learning about it now, where it’s since gone viral. There is no question every bar in the country needs this. It’s easy to pick up and play. Anyone can do it. It requires skill, and literally all you need it to tweak the track layout each week and it throws off the timing, making it a brand new game.

I’m absolutely hooked on Train Marbles.
