Warriors vs. Raptors injury report

The full injury report for Thursday’s game.

The Golden State Warriors have a ... ahem ... golden opportunity in front of them. They host the Toronto Raptors tonight, and a win would cap off a brilliant 6-1 home-stand, while pushing them further up the Western Conference standings. It’s always nice to end a stretch of three games in four nights by facing a lottery-bound team (the Raptors are just 24-45). And it’s nicer still when that team is missing a few of its best players.

Then again, Golden State’s only loss on this lengthy stay at home came against a severely undermanned Denver Nuggets squad, so the Dubs certainly can’t take a win for granted, even if they have an edge in both talent and health.

Here’s the full injury report.

Warriors

Questionable — Gary Payton II (left knee soreness)

Only one name on the injury report for the Warriors, and my goodness is that a nice sight to see. Hopefully Payton is OK — he’s been on an absolute tear lately.

Raptors

Out — RJ Barrett (rest)

Barrett has been a fantastic story this year. After a midseason trade last year, the former No. 3 overall pick has started to actualize his potential in the city where he was born. Despite being in his sixth season, he’s still just 24 years old, and averaging career highs in points (21.5), rebounds (6.5), and assists (5.7). Toronto has one of the worst offenses in the league, so the Warriors should feel good about locking them up with their leading scorer sidelined.

Out — Brandon Ingram (left ankle sprain)

Ingram was traded to the Raptors at the deadline, and immediately agreed to an extension with the team. Alongside Barrett, the Raptors now have two high-scoring, lengthy wings from Duke to build around next to Scottie Barnes. But while Ingram has committed to his new team long-term, he’s yet to actually suit up for them, as a severe ankle injury has kept him sidelined since early December.

Out — Gradey Dick (right knee bone bruise)

Dick, the 13th overall pick in the 2023 draft, has really taken off in his second year, averaging 14.4 points per game while doing a little bit of everything. He’s missed most of the month, though.

Out — Ja’Kobe Walter (right hip flexor)

Walter’s had a strong rookie season, after being selected 19th overall in June. He’s been a solid rotation player for Toronto, averaging 20 minutes per night, but hasn’t played in about two weeks.

Out — Ulrich Chomche (right knee partial proximal MCL tear)

Chomche was the penultimate pick in June’s truncated draft, taken 57th overall ... five spots after Quinten Post. He’s yet to establish himself in the league, but has appeared in a few games. He’ll have to wait until next year to earn a bigger role, though, as his knee injury ended his season in February.

All the action goes down at 7:00 p.m. PT tonight on NBC Sports Bay Area. Enjoy the game, Dub Nation!
