Essex break runners up spell with BUCS title over Loughborough

University of Essex broke their two straight years of finishing runners up, claiming the 2025 BUCS title with a 59-46 win over Loughborough in the final on Wednesday in Loughborough.
It was their fourth straight finals appearance as they re-claimed the title they last won in 2022, behind a 21-point, seven rebound and two assist performance from Maria Blazejewski.
Cameron Taylor-Willis added 13 points and Daniella Turner had an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double.
Katie Januszewska had 18 points to lead Loughborough in defeat.
