The Golden State Warriors host the Denver Nuggets for their fifth game of this seven game homestand. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on ESPN and NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State extended their winning streak to seven games with a hard-fought 97-94 victory over the New York Knicks. It was a defensive battle from start to finish, with both teams grinding it out on that end of the floor.
Stephen Curry led the way offensively with a team-high 28 points, but it was Draymond Green who delivered the dagger, slicing through the defense for a clutch layup to seal the win.

The victory was also historic for head coach Steve Kerr, who notched his 558th career win, surpassing Warriors legend Al Attles for the most coaching wins in franchise history.

What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors enter tonight’s matchup against the Denver Nuggets as one of the hottest teams in the league, winning 13 of their last 15 games. During this stretch, their defense has been elite, ranking second in the NBA with a 108.0 defensive rating.
While the Warriors’ defense has been great, facing Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic will truly put them to the test. The reigning three-time MVP is the team’s leader in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. He’s averaging a triple double for the season with 29.1 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.3 assists and had a game earlier this month where he recorded the first 30-20-20 triple-double in NBA history.

Slowing down Jokic will be the key to a Warriors victory. While rookie center Quinten Post has shown promise, expect Steve Kerr to lean on veteran Kevon Looney or go small with Green at center to combat Denver’s dominant big man.
