Mick Cronin has thoughts.

Cooper Flagg has been on the radar for a few years now. Former Boston Celtic Brian Scalabrine was one of the first to realize it. He got wind that there was a talented kid in Maine and when he first saw him play, he told Flagg, you’re going to be a pro. The only question is how much do you want it and how good do you want to be?

As his freshman year has evolved, people have realized that, yes, he is a highly unusual player. We’ve seen that he’s highly talented. He’s got an excellent vertical; he runs and jumps well. And his basketball instincts are really good, obviously. But what makes him a “generational talent?”

UCLA coach Mick Cronin, analyst and former NBA star Jim Jackson and Duke grad and analyst Seth Davis discuss it in this video.

There are several different opinions and theories, but at the end of the day, what it comes down to is that he’s intensely competitive and really has no particular weaknesses. This is an interesting discussion, so make sure you check it out.
