Ferrari released behind the scenes footage of Lewis Hamilton’s first days with the team
Lewis Hamilton’s stunning move to Ferrari has been a major talking point in the weeks ahead of the 2025 Formula 1 season. The legendary team introduced their newest driver over a few days in January, culminating in his first laps behind the wheel of a Ferrari at their test track.
Now the team has released a nearly nine-minute video taking fans behind the scenes of those first few days.
The video captures Hamilton’s first day at the factory, when he met with various members of the team and took a tour of the facility, including seeing some of the team’s legendary cars. Then on the second day Hamilton donned a Ferrari race kit for the first time, and climbed into a car for his first seat fitting.
Then on the third day Hamilton climbed into the SF-23, the team’s challenger for the 2023 F1 season, to put in his first laps at the team’s test track.
All the while, the Tifosi were never far from view, cheering their new hero.
As you can see in the video following that session Hamilton seemed swept up in the emotions of the moment. Wearing a suit and walking the team’s test track at Maranello, Hamilton talked about
“I can’t believe it,” said the seven-time Drivers’ Champion. “So I ran this track, three laps, yesterday morning. It was great. I did three laps, so 6.2 miles. I’ve seen photos of this. When I was down into the hairpin over there, and I was looking back over here, I was like ‘oh my god.’ It hit me in waves.
“It’s been such a dream to come here and have this experience,” continued Hamilton. “Been a long, long way.”
