Brotherhood Moves: Brandon Ingram, Mark Williams & Cam Reddish All Change Teams
JJ Redick is a happy man today
It’s a big day for the Brotherhood as the NBA trade deadline approaches. First, Brandon Ingram is off to Toronto as the Raptors send Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, plus a first and second round pick to the Pelicans.
And the Lakers rebuild continues as LA sends Cam Reddish, Dalton Knecht, plus an unprotected 2031 first-round pick and a 2030 pick trade for former Duke big man Mark Williams.
Now the Lakers will have LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Austin Reeves and Williams in their core, along with some other useful role players. Coach JJ Redick should be thrilled.
It’s an impressive mid-season rebuild, but it does beg the question: when did Rob Pelinka become good at his job? No one has ever been overly impressed with what he’s done with L.A. and now he looks like Red Auerbach wheeling and dealing.
