Ahead of this year’s trade deadline, and amidst a wild week, let’s look back at the best trade deadline memories.

The 2025 NBA trade deadline will go down in not just Lakers history, but league history. It’s hard to find any trade in sports history as shocking as this one, let alone one that took place during the trade deadline in the NBA.

It’s certainly going to be the predominant moment that comes up when thinking about the trade deadline for Lakers fans for years and years. Landing someone like Luka Dončić isn’t an everyday thing, to say the least.

But it isn’t the only memorable trade deadline. The Lakers have had many chaotic trade deadlines in the past. Even recently, finally parting ways with Russell Westbrook was cause for celebration as well.

Or even the trade of Steve Blake, which made Kobe Bryant angry but did lead to one of the more hilarious wins over the Celtics with Lakers legends MarShon Brooks and Kent Bazemore.

There are plenty of fun, memorable moments and while Thursday’s action alone probably won’t register on that scale, but if we’ve learned anything over the last week, it’s that nothing can be assumed.

With all that being said, let’s take a trip down memory lane and reminisce about our favorite trade deadline moments. They don’t necessarily have to be the best and could even be infamous ones.
