Lakers trade Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic in blockbuster deal
The Lakers have pulled off the ultimate blockbuster, trading Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic.
In a shocking trade that will rock the NBA world, the Lakers are reportedly trading Anthony Davis for Luka Dončić, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
This is a three-team trade involving the Lakers, Mavericks and Jazz.
Yes, this is real. Sources tell ESPN: Full trade:

While Shams was the first to report, other NBA insiders are indicating the same thing. No matter how much any of us believed Shams was hacked, believe it or not, this deal is real.
The Mavericks are indeed, without warning, trading Luka Dončić to the Lakers in a three-team deal that will bring Anthony Davis to Dallas, two sources close to the talks confirm.

While rumors have been flying this trade deadline, no one had mentioned the possibility of Anthony Davis being moved. And this is a very abrupt ending to AD’s tenure in Los Angeles where he established himself as a worthy member in a lineage of all-time Lakers big men.
Adding Luka to the roster will bring excitement, but it’s a very bittersweet feeling to part with AD simultaneously.
Dončić provides the Lakers with an elite player who is currently averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game. Few players in the world are better than Luka, who is just 25 years old.
It’s a startling trade, to say the least, but it lands the Lakers a future superstar to build around in the post-LeBron tenure.
Morris was on the Lakers 2019-20 title run but is far removed from being a rotation player, having seen the court just seven times this season despite Dallas’ injury woes.
Kleber, however, has been a rotational big man for the Mavericks throughout the years. However, he recently suffered a fractured foot and underwent recent surgery, so he’ll be a non-factor in the rotation in the short-term at the very least.
