YouTube Gold: Stetson Gets A Great Buzzer Beater
This is one of the better buzzer beaters so far this year.
One of the greatest things about the NCAA tournament is the ridiculous buzzer beaters. You see it every March - some guy fires up a long shot that’s completely crazy and pulls off a big upset. It’s why the first weekend is the best - it just never seems to stop.
Stetson is currently 6-14 so barring a miracle run in the ASUN tournament, they’re going to be home in March.
However, they had a March-worthy moment Thursday night.
On the road at Eastern Kentucky, the Hatters were down 66-64 with 3.8 seconds left. They brought the ball in under the Colonels basket and got it to junior guard Mehki Ellison. He got to just about the half court line, juked his defender out of the way and let fly.
Boom!
It was an absolutely perfect shot and fell through the net without touching anything. It could only have been more dramatic if it had bounced around a few times before falling through, but as it was, it was a perfect buzzer beater and Ellison has a lifetime memory.
