LeBron James, Bronny decline All-Star weekend invite
The NBA reportedly invited LeBron James and Bronny to be part of All-Star weekend, but the pair declined.
Bronny James has had a rookie season unlike any other in NBA history. There has been tremendous hoopla surrounding his every move from Las Vegas Summer to his regular season debut and even his G League games.
Through it all, Bronny has remained composed and has been as little of a distraction as a player in his position can possibly be.
Still, the noise is hard to ignore. With NBA All-Star weekend fast approaching, NBA Insider Chris Haynes reports that the league wanted LeBron James and Bronny to participate in the Kia Skills Challenge and even extended an offer to Bronny to play in the Castrol Rising Stars game as a G League player.
Both offers were reportedly declined.

For those fans upset that Bronny even received these offers, this is All-Star weekend which is all about entertainment.
Honestly, the critics of Bronny’s existence in the NBA should applaud and thank him for deciding not to participate.
Adding Bronny would undoubtedly have raised the ratings for these two contests, which is likely why the NBA reached out in the first place.
Bronny can instead focus on resting up and preparing for the second half of his rookie campaign or even just soak in the All-Star festivities without adding himself to the media circus.
As for LeBron, he’s well past the days of taking part in All-Star Saturday events, though there would have been a hilarious irony in him finally doing an event on Saturday and it not being the dunk contest he teased taking part in for so many years.
LeBron may have declined this event, but he will almost certainly be named an All-Star starter even if he is no longer the most voted for player in his conference.
All-Star festivities will take place inside the Chase Center in San Francisco. The Castrol Rising Stars game is happening on Friday, Feb. 14, the Kia Skills Challenge will be on Feb. 15 and the All-Star game concludes the weekend and starts on Feb. 16 at 5 p.m. on TNT and TruTV.
