Warriors vs. Wizards injury report
The complete injury report.
Please send me hate mail if the Golden State Warriors lose tonight, but the Dubs are happily staring down at one of their easiest games of the season. After a difficult four-game road trip, the Warriors return home to the cushy confines of the Chase Center. They’ve had two off days, they’re facing a Washington Wizards team that has an NBA-worst record of 6-33 and has lost eight straight contests, and they’re welcoming Draymond Green back to the court.
But now they need to execute. Here’s the full injury report for both teams.
Warriors
Out — Jonathan Kuminga (right ankle sprain)
We haven’t heard too much about Kuminga’s sprained ankle, but it was initially listed as being an injury that would sideline him for at least three weeks. It’s now been two weeks, which means we’re still at least a week away from welcoming JK back ... but hopefully not much longer.
Out — Brandin Podziemski (right abdominal injury management)
We’re into the double digits now, as Podziemski will miss his 10th consecutive game. Here’s hoping there aren’t many more before he’s back on the court.
Out — Kyle Anderson (left gluteal bursitis)
Anderson will miss his second straight game, but it’s an easier pill to swallow with Green returning.
Available — Draymond Green (illness)
After three straight games lost due to illness and a minor back injury, Green remains listed on the injury report ... but with the very happy “available” label next to him. You love to see that!
Wizards
Out — Malcolm Brogdon (right foot plantar fascia contusion)
Well that doesn’t sound like a fun injury. You’ve got to feel for the veteran Brogdon. He seems like the perfect addition to a veteran team but, due to his contract, he’s been passed around bad teams. After spending the 2023-24 season on the 21-win Portland Trail Blazers, Brogdon is now on the worst team in the NBA. To make matters worse (or maybe better?), he’s had a hard time staying on the court during that time, appearing in just 57 out of a possible 121 games during that time span. But he’ll be a free agent this summer, so hopefully can find a more competitive team to join.
Out — Saddiq Bey (left knee ACL surgery)
I’ll forever think of Bey as the player we all thought the Warriors were getting in the James Wiseman trade ... before finding out that more teams were involved, and Gary Payton II was coming home. Unfortunately, Bey had ACL surgery over the offseason, and has yet to make his Wizards debut.
Out — Marvin Bagley III (right knee sprain)
Would you believe me if I told you that Bagley has a career average of 12.4 points per game? He hasn’t lived up to the hype of being the No. 2 pick in the 2018 draft, but he’s probably been a little better than he gets credit for. Unfortunately this season hasn’t gone his way, in terms of health, playing time, or performance.
Out — Patrick Baldwin Jr. (G League assignment)
The Dubs won’t get to reunite with their first-round pick in 2022. Baldwin is still trying to find his footing in his third NBA season, and has been spending a bit of time in the G League.
Enjoy the action, Dub Nation!
