Lakers star Anthony Davis leaves game against Warriors with injury
The Lakers big man went to the locker room after appearing to roll his ankle.
Both Los Angeles Lakers superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis were questionable to play in their Christmas matchup against the Golden State Warriors. Both players ultimately suited up and were in the starting lineup, however, Davis left the game and went into the locker room with an apparent injury in the first quarter. Davis, who had been questionable with a shoulder injury, appeared to roll his ankle.
Entering the day, Davis had played in 28 of the Lakers 30 games so far this season, averaging 26.6 points, 11.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.2 blocks, and 1.2 steals in 35.5 minutes per game on .523/.302/.772 shooting. Needless to say, if he is unable to return, the Warriors should have an easier time containing the Lakers offense and attacking the paint on the other end of the floor.
Warriors wing Jonathan Kuminga already took advantage of Davis’ absence with an incredible dunk early in the second quarter.

The Warriors (15-13) would jump the Lakers (16-13) in the Western Conference standings with a victory, but would continue their recent descent with a loss.
