Wiggins listed as questionable for game against Suns
A new Warriors starter has landed on the injury report.
While the Golden State Warriors have gotten some great injury news over the past couple of days, with Steph Curry returning to practice. However, it has not been all good news on the injury front for the Dubs. Small forward Andrew Wiggins was a new addition to the injury report, landing on Friday’s release as questionable with an ankle injury for Saturday night’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns.
With Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal back in the rotation for Phoenix, the Warriors will need to bring their A-game defensively to keep up with the Suns. Given his questionable status, it seems like Wiggins will probably be able to suit up, but it’s obviously a cause for concern that one of the Dubs’ most dynamic wing defenders will presumably be dealing with some physical limitation.
Coming off the two least productive seasons of his career, Wiggins was hoping for a bounceback 2024-25 campaign. So far, Wiggins has looked closer to the All-Star version of himself that helped the Dubs win a championship back in 2022. In 16 games, Wiggins has averaged 17.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.8 blocks, and just 0.9 turnovers in 28.4 minutes per game. His shooting efficiency has also been the best in his career. He has made 50.0% of his two-point attempts, 41.0% of his three-point attempts, and 76.1% of his free-throw attempts. Those would be the best three-point and free-throw percentages of his career over an entire season.
