Luke Fennell, a class of 2025 point guard out of Australia, has committed to Syracuse, according to multiple reports.

“Syracuse is definitely a big school, which I really like,” he told ESPN’s Olgun Uluc. “Their gym holds more than 35,000 people, and Carmelo [Anthony] went through there, so having something to live up to is the place I want to be at.”

Fennell chose the Orange over Florida, Louisville, Cal and St. Bonaventure.

The 6-foot-6 Melbourne native signed a contract with the South East Melbourne Phoenix in Australia’s National Basketball League in May, and will spend the 2024-2025 season as a developmental player for the club, Syracuse.com’s Mike Walters reports.

The length playmaker is a two-time gold medalist for Australia’s U18 squad, averaging 11.8 points, 3 rebounds and 2.7 assists across six games at the 2024 Asia Cup.

Fennell joins five-star forward Sadiq White in Syracuse’s class of 2025. The Orange are also actively recruiting the four-star son of Kiyan Anthony, Camerlo’s son.
