YouTube Gold: The Dark Side Of The NBA

Biff! Bam! Pow!

When you get right down to it, the NBA markets itself on joy. They like to show dunks and fast breaks and long jumpers.

Like most leagues - the NFL and the NHL aside - the NBA doesn’t like or celebrate dirty play. However it happens.

Chris Paul has a long-time reputation for hitting guys in the ol’ piñata. As a matter of fact, Julius Hodge, who was in Cameron Friday night is one of his earliest known victims.

He’s been retired for 30 years, but Bill Laimbeer, for many, still defines villainy on a basketball court.

This video looks at some of the dirtiest plays in recent history. Lots of names (Ron Artest/Metta World Peace) you’d expect, but some are a bit surprising.

Anyway, Commissioner Adam Silver might not appreciate some of the stuff on here but you just may. It’s a wild ride to say the least.
