Brayden Burries discusses his recruitment with Alabama, Duke, Oregon and other programs in the mix

By MATT WHITFIELD

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. — Class of 2025 five-star guard Brayden Burries took part in Team USA Men’s Junior National team minicamp this weekend. Burries is one of the top remaining uncommitted guards and has several schools in the mix.

“USC, I actually just went there for a practice,” Burries said of his recruitment. “It was just a quick little practice. I haven’t taken an official yet there. Alabama coach [Nate] Oats and his staff [are] real good over there. His play style fits me well.”

Burries enjoyed his recent official visit to Alabama. Burries, A.J. Dybantsa and 2026 five-star Caleb Holt attended the Alabama/Georgia football game. The three have discussed teaming up at the next level.

“We’ve talked outside the visit a little bit,” Burries said. “I feel like if we were to go there and three of us or both of us, me and A.J., it we would be a good thing,” said Burries.

The five-star believes he’ll be taking an official to Oregon later this month and he sees a fit playing for Dana Altman.

“I’m going to go to Oregon this month and that’s all for right now,” Burries said.

On Altman, Burries added, “Coach Dana he fits me well. He wants to see my succeed. He said he’ll put the ball in my hand and let me platy through mistakes. He lets his freshman go. He can coach and keep accountable.”

Several programs have stopped by Eleanor Roosevelt’s (San Bernardino) practices to watch Burries during the live-recruitment period.

“We haven’t had a lot of schools [visit practice] lately, but we’ve had Alabama, USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Duke off the top off my head,” said Burries.

Burries thinks highly of Duke and took an unofficial there last year. He watched a practice and spoke to some of the players.

“They obviously have a great program,” he said. “Coach [Jon] Scheyer he is doing what he is doing, which is good. I feel like if I was to go there, he’d help me and let me play.”

Arizona is another program involved with the talented guard.. Burries said his recruitment is even and there is not one school sticking out recruiting-wise. However, he did mention he’ll commit by January or February.
