Prince Charles finally met his granddaughter, Lilibet Diana, for the first time during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. And the important occasion also paved the way for the Prince of Wales to reunite with his grandson, Archie, who he hadn’t seen in almost two years.

Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles Finally Met Lilibet During The Platinum JubileeAn unnamed source told that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles felt very emotional when they saw Archie and Lilibet. And even though the time that they spent with each other was brief, they seemingly made the most out of it.

"It was a fantastic visit. The prince was delighted to see his grandson and meet his granddaughter for the first time. The Prince and the Duchess [of Cornwall] were absolutely thrilled to see them. It was very special to have some time with him. He hadn't met Lilibet, his granddaughter, and so to meet her for the first time was very emotional — it was a wonderful thing," the source said.

Prince Charles Wanted To Meet Lilibet Diana Shortly After Her BirthPrior to their recent meeting, royal expert Nick Bullen told last year that the future king really wants to meet his granddaughter.

"Prince Charles is incredibly sad about everything that’s gone on. So, the family will want to meet each other," he said.

At the time, Bullen also said that the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee would be the perfect opportunity for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to introduce their daughter to her grandfather.

"The Jubilee is a perfect opportunity for that because if Harry and Megan do come back because they have to be seen supporting Queen Elizabeth II. And everyone’s going to have to play nicely and behave well because it’s the Queen’s moment," he said.

Prince Charles Is A Wonderful Grandfather To All His GrandchildrenEarlier this year, another royal expert praised Prince Charles for being a wonderful grandfather and said that it would be a loss if Lilibet never met him.

"The Prince of Wales has been saddened that he hasn't had the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren, which he really does miss. He is a fantastic grandfather and loves playing the role immensely and it's certainly fair to say he feels there is something missing from his life without the ability to get to know Harry's children. This is something he is hoping to remedy which is why he made the gesture for Harry, Meghan, and the children to stay with him if they wanted to, whenever they may come home for a period of time," the source said (via Good To Know).

Meanwhile, Prince Charles was unable to attend Lilibet’s first birthday party at Frogmore Cottage because of his prior engagements. But The Sun claimed that Queen Elizabeth’s successor surprised his granddaughter with a swing set, which was similar to what he gave Prince George in 2012.

According to reports, Princess Eugenie also had a similar swing set that has her name engraved on it.

Meghan Markle Fires Back After Prince William Points A Finger At Her

In Prince Harry's memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex shared multiple not-so-flattering encounters between him, his wife, and his family. According to her, Markle commented on Kate Middleton having a "baby brain" ahead of her royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.

It reportedly resulted in a verbal row between Markle and Prince William, who immediately defended his wife.

Prince William allegedly "pointed a finger at Meghan" and told her, "Well, it's rude, Meghan. These things are not done here." Marke reportedly didn't sit back and instead clapped back, telling her brother-in-law, "If you don't mind, keep your finger out of my face," Animated Times reported.

Prince Harry also detailed in his book a physical fight with his big brother Prince William. According to him, the heir to the throne visited him at his and Markle's home, and Prince William was coming for his wife.

"It was at a time where he was being told certain things by people within his office. And at the same time, he was consuming a lot of the tabloid press, a lot of the stories. And he had a few issues which were based not on reality. And I was defending my wife. And he was coming for my wife — she wasn't there at the time but through the things that he was saying. I was defending myself," he told Anderson Cooper during their interview for 60 Minutes, People reported.

Prince Harry's Spare Absolves Meghan Markle From His Row With Prince William

In his memoir and recent interviews, Prince Harry repeatedly said that he and Prince William grew apart after Princess Diana's death. He added that sibling rivalry played a part.

In the same interview with Cooper, he explained that he didn't want to hurt his family but chose to share intimate details about his family because it "does give a full picture of the situation as we were growing up and also squashes this idea that somehow my wife was the one that destroyed the relationship between these two brothers."

Royal historian Gareth Russell also said that the Duke of Sussex's revelations in his book absolves Meghan Markle from the rift between the two brothers.

"She said, 'I feel like in many ways this exonerates Megan from the accusation that she stirred up all this trouble between them,'" Russell told Us Weekly Wednesday. "It's very clear, if you read the book, that Prince Harry has been keeping score in his head for decades before he met the future Duchess of Sussex."
