It’s crazy to think that she’s just a rookie. What levels can she hit in the future when she’s so far ahead everyone else now?

It hasn’t always been the easiest rookie season for Caitlin Clark as a lot of her new rivals welcomed her with disdain and at times nastiness, but the star of the Indiana Fever has gotten through all of the hazing and cruelty and kept her chin up. And while she had a couple of rocky early weeks and a few unpleasant experiences, at this point, she is in take over mode.

Clark is doing things that no one has ever done in women’s basketball. It sounds cliche to say it, but it’s absolutely true: she’s playing at a completely different level than anyone else in the WNBA is now or ever has.

Basically, the Iowa product is playing a lot like Larry Bird did when he hit the NBA in 1979. She’s using the whole court, making passes that aren’t immediately obvious to anyone else, hitting rainbows and driving past people when they come out to guard her. Then she torments defenders with more laser sharp passes.

She’s making the sorts of plays, in other words, that astonish and delight fans as she did Wednesday night. And because she is capable of doing that, attendance is through the roof.

Quite simply, Clark is revolutionizing her sport and it’s glorious to watch.
