Kevin Durant beat Serbia, then stayed up all night getting into Twitter beef

KD back to doing KD things.

If there was a gold medal for “terminally online pettiness” then Kevin Durant would be the all-around champion. KD has had an ... interesting life online, to say the least. He’s quick to clap back at people who upset him, he’ll never let slander go, and Durant will even create a burner to defend himself.

So naturally Durant’s Twitter fingers were ready to go after USA needed a comeback to beat Serbia in the Olympic semi-finals, which led to Nuggets fans bragging about Nikola Jokic — annoying KD.

Keep in mind that this was posted at 11:09 PM ET, which means it was just after 5 am in Paris. Durant was still awake after the game and decided to fight. He eventually went to bed, but as soon as he was up again it was right back to arguing online.

It just kept going ...

And going ...

Essentially Durant’s argument boils down to this: There’s a forced narrative, largely predicated on the marketing machine that sells the concept of the “battle” that has fans believing that players around the league actively dislike each other. While there are certainly some who don’t get along, for the most part there’s nothing but mutual respect between NBA players.

Durant is furious that American fans would be pushing Jokic over Team USA just because of their NBA allegiances, and thinks that’s really dumb. Especially when behind the scenes nobody has any disrespect for Joker, which eliminates the “Nikola vs. the world” narrative.

It’s kinda fair, but also KD should probably just drop this one and concentrate on the medal.
