After exiting in the second half of Tuesday’s quarterfinal game against Brazil in the 2024 Olympics, LeBron James received four stitches but will be fine moving forward.

About the only thing not to go right for Team USA in their dominating win over Brazil in Tuesday’s quarterfinals matchup at the 2024 Olympics came in the second half. On a Brazil fastbreak, LeBron James took an inadvertent shot to the face that forced him out of the game.

LeBron would initially go to the bench before going to the locker room. He would eventually return to the bench for the final minutes of the game and, postgame, head coach Steve Kerr revealed he received four stitches for the incident.

In case you were further worried at all, Kevin Durant posted a picture of the team after the game on Tuesday and LeBron did not appear to have any swelling on his eye, either.

As much fun as a LeEyePatch game would be, it looks like LeBron is going to be fine. Maybe he’ll break out some LeGoggles.

LeBron has been about as pivotal as anyone for Team USA. While it was expected he would have a big role, he’s assumed the role of lead ball handler, especially as Steph Curry has struggled mightily in the Olympics.

In only 20.5 minutes per game, LeBron is averaging 13.8 points, 7.8 assists and 5.8 rebounds for Team USA. He’s shooting 67.6% from the field, but has only taken 34 shots in four games and seven 3-pointers.

For those keeping track at home, that’s the most minutes, second-most points, most assists and third-most rebounds per contest. He also has the highest field goal percentage on the team.

Team USA will play Serbia on Thursday at noon PT.
