Bryson DeChambeau’s ‘Breaking 50’ video with Donald Trump sees 3 million views in 12 hours

Bryson DeChambeau invited Donald Trump to join him for an episode on his YouTube channel, and the video has done massive numbers.

Bryson Dechambeau’s numerous YouTube videos have garnered over one million views, but the reigning U.S. Open champion has never seen numbers like this.

DeChambeau invited former President Donald Trump to join him on his ‘Breaking 50’ series, a set of videos on his YouTube channel in which DeChambeau attempts to break 50 in a two-man scramble from the women’s tees. The 55-minute episode with Trump garnered over three million views in 12 hours. It was even the number one trending video on YouTube in the United States late on Tuesday evening, per Josh Carpenter of Sports Business Journal.

It has already topped DeChambeau’s most popular video on his channel, a 9-hole match with Phil Mickelson that he filmed in August 2023 at The Greenbrier in West Virginia. DeChambeau and Mickelson recorded that video before the LIV Golf event on the Old White, where DeChambeau shot a 58 on Sunday to win. He also has a video of his highlights from that impressive round on his YouTube page, with two million people tuning in to see how he won his first-ever LIV Golf event.

As for his video with Trump, the now two-time U.S. Open champion and former President attempted to break 50 at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey. The Bedminster course, 40 miles west of Manhattan, hosted LIV Golf events in 2022 and 2023, with Henrik Stenson and Cameron Smith winning, respectively.

“I want to thank President Trump for coming on this episode of Break 50! It was an honor to play a round with the former President and raise a ton of money for the Wounded Warrior Project. This was all meant to be about golf, good fun, and supporting a great cause. I’ve also added the Wounded Warrior Project as a fundraiser on this video for those of you who would like to take part in giving back to our nation’s veterans as well!” DeChambeau said in the caption of his video.

“To confirm and clear any speculation, the Break 50 video with President Trump was filmed during the first week of July, before I traveled overseas and prior to the incident that occurred in Butler, PA.”

Despite the divisive nature of American politics, DeChambeau’s video with Trump will likely continue to trend in the coming days. But it most certainly helped Dechambeau, who now has over one million subscribers on his YouTube page. He eclipsed that mark shortly after posting this video with the former President.
