Darius Adams, a five-star shooting guard in the class of 2025, has set six official visits.

He will trip to UConn (Sept. 4-6), NC State (Sept. 6-8), Notre Dame (Sept. 10-12), Tennessee (Sept. 13-15), Michigan State (Sept. 20-22) and Alabama (Sept. 27-29), as the New Jersey native targets an October commitment, he told ZAGSBLOG at last week’s Nike EYBL Peach Jam.

The 6-foot-5 La Lumiere (IN) product averaged 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1 assist across five games with the PSA Cardinals last week at Peach Jam.

Adams has no plans to narrow his list, as the upcoming visits are the schools he’s “mainly focused on,” he said.

He took unofficial visits last fall to Michigan State and Tennessee football games, while seeing UConn unofficially on June 30 after the Huskies offered him this past spring.

He broke down all six upcoming visits to ZAGSBLOG:

Alabama: “Obviously, they shoot a lot of threes [and] they get up in transition, so that’s what I mainly like about them. I want go to a winning program and a winning program that helps me.”

Michigan State: “[Tom] Izzo was here a couple times. [I’m] looking forward to getting down there again. [I’ve] Been there twice, went to a [football] game and the atmosphere was great.”

NC State: “[I’m] hearing from Coach [Kevin] Keatts a lot. Going in there and making an impact right away is something I want to do and something that they’re telling me I can do. So, [I’m] looking forward to getting down there and seeing the school. They’re guard heavy, use ball screens a lot and their pace is what I like.”

Notre Dame: “[They’re] 30 minutes from La Lumiere. [Micah] Shrewsbury was here at one of the games, and Coach [Mike] Farrelly and I talk a lot. [I want to] get down there and see what it’s like more.”

Tennessee:Rick Barnes [is a] great coach. I’ve been there [and] it was good, campus was great. [We] went to a football game [and it had] a great atmosphere. I saw them scrimmage last year, so that was pretty good to see.”

UConn: “They’re champions, [so] what’s there not to love about it? It’s a great school, [I] love [Danny] Hurley. Hurley and Kimani [Young], they’re here at my games, so I just love to see that support from them.”

In terms of play style, Adams is a hard player to take off the floor with his natural three-level scoring ability and hard working mindset on defense.

“[I’m] player that can do anything and really always works hard,” he said. “[I’m] a shooter, but if the shot’s not falling [I] try to get to the rim.”

“I would just say being able to guard many positions and playing many positions [makes me unique]. I’m going to guard [the] one or two, so there’s a lot of things that you can keep me on the court for.”
