Sacramento, San Antonio showing serious interest in Lauri Markkanen
In addition to Golden State, Sacramento and San Antonio have been the two other teams characterized by league figures with knowledge of the situation as strong possible suitors for Markkanen at this point. For the Kings to land Markkanen, NBA personnel believe the Jazz would require Sacramento to part with Keegan Murray, and that might leave other trade options like Brandon Ingram as a more palatable outcome for the Kings. Minnesota has shown interest in Markkanen as well, sources said.

A dark horse team I sort of like for Lauri Markkanen is Toronto.
They have their picks. Utah liked RJ Barrett in the Donovan Mitchell negotiations (who knows if that’s changed). His shooting would be so helpful for Quickley and Barnes as drivers. They need another shot-creator. – 10:27 PM

I’m not sure how the Warriors can pry Lauri Markkanen away from Utah — hard to see how a deal there wouldn’t cost them Kuminga at the least — but that’s probably the last best option for next season, and it won’t net a title. But highly unlikely PG13 would have, either. – 6:24 PM

I’m torn on the idea of Lauri Markkanen to the Spurs.
The fit with Wemby, Markkanen, Castle and Vassell as a core is flawless. That team would rule.
