As noted in here — Hawks could theoretically bring Saddiq Bey back on a cheapo one-year deal while he rehabs torn ACL, and then re-signs with Bird rights next summer. But paying him the $8.5 million QO was, much like Bey, a non-starter.

I’d imagine Saddiq Bey’s market will go well beyond a vet minimum, for any Suns fans who were wondering. You never know in free agency, but I’d be shocked if that’s what he winds up getting – 12:56 PM

More on this storyline

Adrian Wojnarowski: Saddiq Bey averaged 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds before suffering a torn left ACL in late March. He’s expected to make a full recovery. He’s averaged 14 points with Pistons and Hawks since arriving as 19th pick in 2020 Draft. -via Twitter @wojespn / June 29, 2024
Bobby Marks: The AJ Griffin trade to Houston puts Atlanta right at the $171M luxury tax. However, if Atlanta tenders Saddiq Bey a $8.5M Qualifying Offer, they would now go into the first apron. -via Twitter @BobbyMarks42 / June 27, 2024
Two-way veterans like Alec Burks, Gary Harris, Talen Horton-Tucker and Saddiq Bey (among others) are of interest, but Bey’s restricted free agency makes things difficult. Free agent Eric Gordon is “50-50” on a return to Phoenix, according to a source close to the veteran guard, but is also interested in a Rockets reunion. -via New York Times / June 20, 2024
