What’s the buzz on Twitter?

Jason Anderson @JandersonSacBee
I’m told the Sacramento Kings are still engaged in trade talks involving the No. 13 pick in the NBA draft. The two names I’m hearing right now: Washington Wizards small forward Kyle Kuzma and Brooklyn Nets small forward Cameron Johnson. – 8:59 PM

Here is the projection I’ll be using for Nicolas Claxton’s contract until we get confirmation on the exact deal and terms.
The second-year decline allows the Brooklyn Nets to get a little more 2025 cap space.

The Wizards remain active in trade discussions centered around Kyle Kuzma as well.
Washington could attach Kuzma alongside Nos. 14 or 26 to move up even higher in the draft from their current slots.

The Kings are interested in several wings on the market, including Kyle Kuzma, per @JakeLFischer.

Jake Fischer @JakeLFischer
NBA folks keep connecting Sacramento to various wings on the market. Kings registered interest in DFS before the trade deadline, sources said. Sacramento’s been linked to Kyle Kuzma. The Kings were a potential Zach LaVine suitor, but that seems less likely without Alex Caruso. – 5:50 PM

Brooklyn’s trade of Kevin Durant netted them:
Cameron Johnson
2023 first-round pick (from Phoenix – unprotected)
2025 first-round pick (from Phoenix – unprotected)
2027 first-round pick (from Phoenix – unprotected)
2028 first-round pick swap (from Phoenix)
2028 second-round – 8:33 AM

The Kings continue to show interest in trading for Kyle Kuzma, per @sam_amick/@anthonyVslater (nytimes.com/athletic/55874…).

More on this storyline

Ever since, McNair and the Kings have maintained a varying level of interest in trading for Kyle Kuzma, which has picked back up to some degree this summer. Kuzma has an appealing contract. He is under control for the next three seasons at an affordable and declining rate: $23.5 million, $21.4 million, $19.4 million, attached to a trade kicker that would add $3 million each season unless Kuzma waives it. He remains a name to watch for the Kings heading into the week. -via New York Times / June 25, 2024
Kyle Kuzma will be another advanced wing player on the trade market, although Washington’s asking price for the veteran scorer prior to February’s trade deadline was too rich for most rival teams. -via Yahoo! Sports / May 23, 2024
Yossi Gozlan: The Brooklyn Nets still project with over $60 million in 2025 cap space, which could make them a prime dumping ground for contracts with assets attached. They could further increase that projection if they potentially trade veterans like Cameron Johnson and Dorian Finney-Smith. -via Twitter @YossiGozlan / June 26, 2024
Anticipation is already mounting leaguewide that the newly acquired Bojan Bogdanovic as well as a slew of players from the Nets’ roster last season — from obvious trade candidates like Dorian Finney-Smith and Dennis Schroeder all the way up to sharpshooter Cam Johnson — are in play for immediate trades. -via marcstein.substack.com / June 26, 2024
NBA Central: The Cavs could show interest in Cameron Johnson, per @ChrisFedor “The Cavs love Cam Johnson. If he is available from the Brooklyn Nets, the Cavs will be involved in those conversations. There’s no doubt about that. The question becomes, do they have the pieces to satisfy what Brooklyn would want in return for Cam.” -via Twitter / June 26, 2024
