Tyrese Haliburton: It was a great year, but we know there’s another step for us to go

0 8
“I think when the season ends, you get time to do some R&R; (rest and relaxation), be on vacation,” Tyrese Haliburton said. “It’s a great time to reflect on everything that you’ve done. “Man, it was a great year. It was a great year for us as a team, me individually, of course, but we know there’s another step for us to go, and obviously not satisfied with just Eastern Conference Finals. We want to do a lot more.”

Tyrese Haliburton getting eliminated in knock out was a delight. The camper behind him in line could really shoot it, so Haliburton kept making him back up. Didn’t matter. Camper got him. pic.twitter.com/mKB6Atpzvp11:18 AM

More on this storyline

Haliburton was unable to finish the season due to several injuries, but especially his left hamstring. I asked him, now that the season is over, if he was more hurt than he was willing to share during their playoff run (for obvious reasons). “That’s not really for me to talk about,” he said, not making any excuses. “You see how I played, you guys can make that assumption yourself. Everybody saw what happened and saw how I was feeling. I was on every injury report the whole year. So, yeah, it sucks, but hopefully this summer I can have a healthy, successful summer and go into the next season with no problems.” -via Fieldhouse Files / June 15, 2024
Until this year, the franchise hadn’t reached the postseason since 2020 and hadn’t won a series in a decade. So this season was a huge step forward. “I think you can say we’re ahead of schedule in our rebuild,” he added, “but we know what we’re capable of and our goal is to get right back where we were this year and do more.” -via Fieldhouse Files / June 15, 2024
