A tough encounter for the Glen Luss Glasgow Rocks as they took on the London Lions at the Emirates Arena under the Sky Sports lights. A close opening two quarters between these teams however, it was the Lions who ultimately came away with the win despite four Rocks finishing with double digit points.

The Rocks came out the gates quickly in this contest as they found their shot early on in the first quarter with Jordan Harris scoring the first five points in the game for the Rocks. Despite this, London, being a good and composed team, they didn’t let this faze them as they continued to match the Rocks on the scoreboard with both teams tied at 11 apiece after the first minutes of quarter number one.
Boban Jacdonmi looked to continue his recent impressive performances, picking up the slack since Ali Frasers injury as he went on a run of scoring six straight points for the Rocks. The first quarter proved to be a close encounter between the two sides as strong opening 10 minutes from the Lions saw them take a 24-21 lead at the end of the quarter.

At the start of the second quarter, the Lions went on a 6-1 run which was far from an ideal start to the quarter from the Rocks as they were already slightly trailing on the scoreboard after the first quarter.
Again though, the opposing team who started the quarter off slower out of the two teams managed to come back fairly quickly into the contest, as eight quick points from Fraser Malcolm coming off the bench put the Rocks up 13-11 in the second quarter scoring and pushed them to just one behind the Lions who led 35-34 mid-way through the quarter.
Going into the interval, the scoring slowed down for both teams but more importantly the London Lions, as the Rocks continued to put pressure on them defensively, baskets from Vance Johnson and Fraser Malcolm headed into halftime put the Rocks in a good position. However, a late 9-0 run from the Lions in the final minute of the quarter saw them hold on to their narrow lead at halftime as they led 47-43.

All still to play for in the second half of this contest as the two teams got underway in the third quarter. Again, both teams continued to battle back and forth on the scoreboard with Jordan Harris, Vance Johnson and Jordan Johnson all contributing points early in the third quarter as both teams were tied at 11 points apiece mid-way through the quarter.

Despite this, the Lions continued to slowly grow their lead in the game as they went on a 9-3 run, extending their lead to 10 which was the joint largest lead they had in the contest to
this point. Going into the fourth quarter, the London Lions kept the pressure on the Glenn Luss Glasgow Rocks as they outscored them 27-18 in the third quarter, taking a 74-61 lead.
Looking to improve on a disappointing third quarter after the opening two were close, it was Jonny Bunyan who opened the scoring for the Rocks in the fourth quarter as his three cut the Lions lead back down to 10.

Still a long way from bringing this game back, the Rocks continued to fight throughout the fourth quarter however it was looking increasingly unlikely that they’d be able to mount a comeback as the Lions outscored the Rocks 11-6 in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, pushing their lead out to 18.
Tough to come back from that after a promising and close first half between the two teams. The London Lions outscore the Glenn Luss Glasgow Rocks 22-14 in the fourth quarter and win the contest 96-75.
MVP of this game for the Rocks was Fraser Malcolm coming off the bench, as he finished with an impressive 19 points, shooting 8-12 from the field.
Next up for the Rocks is a game on Sunday evening down Cheshire for the second leg of the BBL trophy semi-final for a 5:30pm tip-off.
