We are delighted to reveal that 6ft9 American power-forward Vance Johnson has joined our roster ahead of our match tonight against the Bristol Flyers.

The Chicago native has just turned 25 and is currently in his first season in Europe. Vance completed his NCAA career at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee averaging 10.1ppg and 5.5rpg in his final year.

He spent a brief period of last season with the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G-League before heading to Europe for the start of the 2021-22 season in the German ProA with Itzehoe Eagles.

Vance parted ways with Itezhoe in November after a successful personal period averaging 10.9ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.7apg, hitting 50% of his threes and 55% of his two’s in the process.

Vance joins on a short-term trial with a view to finishing the season in Glasgow should the trial be successful.

Coach Gareth Murray said on his signing:

“He comes into the team with some experience in the German ProA this year.

“I spoke to his previous coach and I know he’s a good person and was highly regarded in Germany.

“He will add some much need depth to the team. He is a versatile forward that can play both ends of the floor. His size and energy will add another dimension to the roster.

“I’m looking for him to be a hard-working rebounder who can space the floor and make an impact”.

We would like to thank our partners at Scoutory for both their assistance in identifying the player and also sponsoring the player for the 2021/22 season.
