The Glenn Luss Glasgow Rocks battled down in Surrey against the Scorchers and ended up coming away with a comfortable win, as they scored over 120 points and won by 41 points.
Starting off the first quarter it was the Rocks who came out the gate quicker as four points from Jordan Harris and Jordan Johnson saw the Rocks take an early 10-7 lead.
The Rocks continued with their hot streak to start the game as Ali Fraser finished at the rim with a dunk which was followed up by the Rocks first three of the night thanks to Jaycee Hillsman.
Johnson and Hillsman then went on a streak of scoring the next eight points for the Rocks, part of which saw Johnson knock down a confident step back three giving the Rocks an early 9-point lead.
To end the quarter Hillsman continued his impressive first quarter scoring, as he hit another three giving him 12 points in the opening quarter as the Rocks lead 35-22 after the first.
At the start of the second quarter, it was the Rocks who started off the scoring again as Boban Jacdonmi went to the free throw line knocking down one of two which was followed up by six straight points from Jordan Harris including two emphatic dunks to give the Glenn Luss Glasgow Rocks a commanding lead as they opened up the quarter with a 7-0 run.
Despite this, the Surrey Scorchers were determined to fight back and make the game a contest as they went on an 10-3 run of their own, evening up the second quarter scoring for both teams but the Rocks still lead by 13 points.
Going into halftime, the Rocks managed to extend their lead back out again as they outscored the Scorchers 19-13 in the second quarter which saw them take a 54-35 lead at the interval.
To start off the second half it was Surrey who opened up the scoring for the first time in the three quarters, however, the Rocks had a reply as Jaycee Hillsman knocked down another three-pointer, followed by a quick five points from Johnson as both he and Hillsman had scored 17 points at the start of the third.
The Rocks lead by as many as 26, however again the Scorchers weren’t going down without a fight 14-3 run cutting the Rocks down to 15 which was the lowest Rocks lead since the second quarter, however, a Tyrell Green three gave the Rocks some well-needed scoring to halt the Surrey comeback.
Surrey having cut the lead down to 15 were not able to continue this run as Jordan Johnson and Jaycee Hillsman continued to take over the game, extending the Rocks lead to their largest of the night so far as they went up by 30 points going into the fourth quarter, as the Glenn Luss Glasgow Rocks lead the Surrey Scorchers, 90-60.
Into the fourth quarter with the game seemingly already done as a contest, the Rocks looked to make sure of the win and keep their foot on the gas as Jaycee Hillsman scored the Rocks first two points of the final quarter.
The Rocks continued in autopilot for the rest of the fourth quarter, outscoring the Scorchers 32-21 as the Glenn Luss Glasgow Rocks defeat the Scorchers down in Surrey 122-81.
The two MVPs of this game for the Rocks, were Jordan Johnson who finished with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists, along with Jaycee Hillsman who had 33 points, shooting 7/8 from three.
