But Kentucky leads with 27 to Duke’s 21
On opening day, Kentucky had 27 players in the NBA to Duke’s 21. Those two schools had more than anyone else and give John Calipari credit: he said years ago that the most important day for Kentucky every year was Draft Day.
We’re not authorities on Kentucky basketball obviously but we’re pretty sure there’s one big difference between the two programs and their respective NBA rosters: There is only one Kentucky player who has a national championship: Anthony Davis.
Duke, by contrast, has four: Mason Plumlee, Justise Winslow, Tyus Jones and Grayson Allen.
We’re sure like Calipari, Big Blue Nation is thrilled to have more NBA success than NCAA champions. Duke fans will just have to learn to live with it.
