[Women's Soccer] UAV Gains Narrow Hold on South Pod Lead

Despite its last three matches concluding in draws, Antelope Valley (1-0-2 in California Pacific Conference play) sits atop the South Pod with a slim one-point advantage over La Sierra and Marymount California.  The Pioneers played an ambitious preseason schedule--five of the six non-conference matches were on the road--and stumbled out with a 1-5 record, the lone win coming at home with a 1-0 decision over Arizona Christian.  But UAV registered a 3-1 win over Soka University of America in their pod opener before losing to UC Merced and tying Sierra Nevada in non-pod matches.  Last week, the Pioneers played MCU to a 2-2 draw on Friday, and then closed out the week with a scoreless tie with LSU.
