Siena's Antoni Wyche says Notre Dame job was 'too appealing to pass up'

Wyche, who spent the past two seasons as a Siena men’s basketball assistant coach, spoke Thursday about his reasoning for leaving the Saints to take the same position at Notre Dame. He played for the Fighting Irish from 1995 to 1999.


“Just an opportunity to be back at my alma mater in the ACC, trying to get back on track being a perennial (NCAA) Tournament team and making a run,” Wyche said.


Wyche compared his move to current Siena head coach Carmen Maciariello leaving George Washington to come to Siena three years ago. Maciariello is a Siena alumnus.
