The Wagner family really is amazing. The grandfather, Milt, played for Louisville, helping the Cards win the 1986 national championship over Duke in Mike Krzyzewski’s first trip to the Final Four.

His son, DaJuan, was very highly rated coming out of high school and chose to play for John Calipari at Memphis. Like his dad, he made the NBA but not for long as significant health problems ended his career early.

Now DaJuan’s son, DaJuan Jr., aka DJ, is a rising star and may be the top player in the Class of 2023.

Duke is interested as are Kentucky and Louisville and everyone else, including Penny Hardaway at Memphis.

DJ says he’s open to many schools but what an interesting recruitment this is. His grandfather, for all we know, may say Kentucky over my dead Cardinal body. Then his dad might love Calipari but also Memphis.

Who knows? This one is going to be very, very interesting. For DJ, at a minimum, he should have great guidance from people he can trust.
